Counting the days

We are counting the days until Dad gets home. Every day from now until his homecoming Nora opens a day on this calendar and inside is a milk chocolate surprise.

Dream park

This was a gorgeous day in Sept (I think). We headed to the Dream Park in Monona and stopped at the library too. Come to think of it, it's the same day we made the Mac and Cheese in the crockpot.

It's mac and cheese - in the crockpot!

Shopping with Nora

See Polar Bear? He has a sweet ride on the bottom of the cart.

Late night smoothie

One night after Nora went to bed I made a smoothie. I should have known better. I heard her shout "MOM, are you making a smoothie? Can I have some?" Now I wait until I'm sure she's asleep.

Imagination

Here we are back from our regular Saturday double coupon days shopping trip. I picked up ahem..quite a few jugs of cat litter. Nora pretended they were suitcases that she had to lug onto a train (which mean I had to lug them on the train). Then she loaded the babies and animals on the train too.

Flashback

The next several posts are flashbacks because I found some pictures on the camera that we wanted to share. Short and sweet.

Some time ago (Aug? Sept?) Nora and I walked from lot 60 to the Union to enjoy some beautiful scenery and of course, popcorn.

Starting off the walk with rice cakes

Cow canoe!

Mmm popcorn at the Union.

She's 3 or why I haven't posted in forever

She's 3! Life happened and Nora turned 3. I can't believe it. Nora's been trying out that phrase lately too --"I can't believe it!" Today her new word was "fabulous." It's been fun being on the sidelines as her vocabulary rapidly expands. Most of the time it's just fun hanging out and with all the hanging out, apparently there's no time left to blog about it.

That's right. She had a cupcake for breakfast!

Enjoying the cupcake

Jumping around in the birthday outfit she picked out

Wearing her "church coat," ready to leave for Thanksgiving dinner

Watching the parade with Karl and Patrick

Rocking a baby

*Gasp* Is that Sesame St wrapping paper?

Cake that met Nora's specifications. It had to have chocolate in it and have three stars on top.

Waiting for cake

Happy Birthday Nora! We love you -- Mom and Dad
